Mother’s Day is almost here! I posted some Mother’s Day gift ideas a few days ago, but here are a couple more:

• Plant a tree or a whole grove of trees in your mom’s name
• Bake mom a special Mother’s Day cake!
• Give her the gift of the written word with funny books like How to Traumatize Your Children and the Green Eggs and Ham Cookbook
• Cool silk pajamas or a cashmere robe

The countdown for Mother’s Day Shopping is on, especially if you plan on doing any online shopping. I want to get something special and unique for each of the Moms in my life, but it is quite a list: My mom, the moms of my nieces and nephews, my grandmothers…the aunt in me would also love to get a little something for all my aunts who are also moms, but that would totally blow the budget. They will have to settle for my love, appreciation and best wishes.

Getting back to the gifts I that are on my list, here are some options I am thinking about:

• Spa or massage gift certificates, because they all deserve some pampering
• A wine tasting class or private yoga lesson
• Aromatic plants like lavender or rosemary for their gardens
• Birthstone jewelry, because it’s a classic
• CDs from Rockabye Baby! - because all that Elmo and Wiggles music can make an adult crazy! This is the perfect compromise for parents!

Ok, those are all the ideas I have for now, but I will be brainstorming over the next few days. My goal is to have all my shopping done by May 4th to avoid inflated delivery charges.
