It’s So Tough To Be a Baby in France
It just got even tougher being a baby in France: TV shows aimed at children under 3 years old have been officially banned by the broadcast authority for possible developmental risks to young children. That means non Wiggles, non Nick Jr., and definitely non Teletubbies–but, how will the French children understand who the characters on their toys are?!! Mon dieu!

I was surprised to see this. I haven’t heard about it in the French media. Most of the mothers I know wouldn’t dream of putting their under threes in front of the TV for long periods - if at all; Anyway I think that the kind of parents who would do something like that would put their children in front of the TV regardless of what was being shown.
It was interesting to see the Jordy clip. He was four when they made that, same age as mydaughter who is now nearly 2o. Jordy was regarded as a’product’ and was boo-ed and jeered at by the audience when he appeared in a TV variety show. He published his autobiography when he was 18.
Hi Anji! I had no idea Jordy is already an adult…WoW! I would love to read his autobiography!
I agree that it’s bad to leave kids in front of the TV for long periods, especially very young ones. I can’t even imagine why anyone would want to use the TV to get a baby to sleep!
